This experience is designed specifically for incoming first-year students who will commute to Xavier in Fall 2026 and live within commuting distance of campus.
No—this program is completely free for selected participants.
Spots are limited to keep the experience small and highly interactive. We encourage you to apply early to secure your place.
The deadline to apply is July 24, 2026. Students will be notified after applying if they have been selected to participate.
Yes. This is a full experience from 12:00–5:00 PM, and each part builds on the next. To get the most out of the day, participants are expected to attend the full program.
You can expect a high-energy, interactive day that includes:
- Meeting other first-year commuters and CPMs
- A hands-on Makerspace activity
- Exploring campus spaces you’ll actually use
- Learning practical commuter strategies and supports
- Getting a preview of Manresa and campus life
Just bring yourself! We recommend:
- Comfortable shoes (you’ll be moving around campus)
- A phone for photos and connecting with others
- Anything you need for the afternoon (snacks will be provided)
Yes! Food and refreshments will be available during the program.
You’ll receive detailed information about parking and arrival instructions after registering. Parking Services will also be part of your experience, helping you learn the best strategies for the semester.
The Commuter Lounge is your home base on campus—a space to relax, study, recharge, and connect. During this event, you’ll get exclusive access and learn how to make it part of your daily routine.
Once you submit your application:
- You’ll receive confirmation that it was received
- If selected, you’ll get event details and next steps
- Then you’re on your way to starting Xavier with a strong commuter community
