Education
Our School of Education is a vibrant community of educators, scholars, and learners advancing the future of education in our region and beyond. From primary education and Montessori education to educational leadership our dedicated faculty partner with local schools and districts to ensure a strong and educated future for our society. The Xavier University Student Pledge captures the promise of our School of Education, “We are Xavier Musketeers. We are unique individuals who come together in the spirit of St. Ignatius, to learn together, to serve together, and we will succeed in changing the world together. We act with integrity, justice and generosity. All for one and one for all.”

Social Sciences
Our faculty and students work with inmates, help homeless families find housing, provide mental health care, and improve the work environments of organizations, and prepare future community leaders. They do so together with the help of our community partners and agencies. Learning occurs in the real world and is often indistinguishable from service. With Magis as a foundational value – our students aspire to achieve more – for and with others.

Health
High quality, affordable, and effective health care are topics of increasing concern in our society. Current challenges in this field include infant mortality, the opioid epidemic, affordable care, long-term care, health analytics, and health policy, among others. Our Health programs are preparing future thought leaders and direct service providers for this industry-in-flux. Today, approximately half of all students in the college and a quarter of all students at Xavier University are majoring in the health professions. We have a strong reputation for preparing health leaders, nurses, occupational therapists, athletic trainers, and health analysts and have launched several new and innovative programs to meet the employment demands of this rapidly changing industry. We’ve developed a strong national reputation for interprofessional education and collaboration – a pillar of the new perspective on health known as Population Health. Our health related programs deliver on our Xavier University brand promise of Learning, Serving, and Achieving – Together.
