Welcome to the Office of the Provost and Chief Academic officer. We tend to students' educational and personal development journey at Xavier. With faculty and staff, under the leadership of President Graham, S.J., we promote the academic mission of our three colleges, academic support, and student life and leadership programs.
In the Jesuit tradition, Xavier remains grounded in the intellectual legacy of the Society of Jesus. Throughout their history, the Jesuits have been renowned for their curiosity in the humanities and natural sciences. These areas inspire our undergraduate core curriculum and professional programs, to which we add emphasis on critical thinking and communication skills. The education of the whole person includes ethics and values, and also branches into professional applications that respond to the needs of our contemporary society. We prepare our students to enter the world with specialized knowledge that has been further informed through rigorous training of mind and spirit.
The Roman Catholic roots of Xavier University are fundamental to its being. Nevertheless, we believe that our community is truly open to any inquiry, and we actively welcome people of all faith traditions as students, faculty, and staff. Xavier is a true marketplace of ideas, in which all modes of knowing are considered. This is not to say that all ideas that we engage have equal value or truth, but rather that discovery, comparison, and testing will determine the value and truth of all knowledge.
Please contact us if we can be of assistance.
