Trans+ Day of Visibility

Sunday, March 31, 2024 marks the 15th annual International Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV). The day aims to celebrate the resilience and success of transgender people and raise awareness of trans+ rights. TDOV was originally founded in 2009 by activist Rachel Crandall, who was inspired by the fact that there was no holiday in existence dedicated to honoring the achievements and contributions of transgender people. At the time, the only major transgender-centered commemoration was the Trans+ Day of Remembrance, which mourns the victims of hate crimes and violence.
