Engaging More Women as Civic and Community Leaders
The most effective boards reflect the demographics and experiences of the communities they serve. Although women comprise more than half of the population, they occupy only one-third of civic board seats in our region, and 25% of civic boards have no women at all. Appointed is a non-partisan initiative that prepares and empowers women to serve on civic boards and commissions.
On February 6 the Xavier Center for Women in Business and Leadership will host Appointed 101. This 90-minute workshop will include a panel featuring Cincinnati Vice Mayor Jan-Michele Kearney, United Way President Moira Weir, and AFG Board of Directors member Mary Beth Martin as well as an overview by Director Rajani Menon on how you can get FREE training from Appointed.
