Biography

Hello! My name is Natalie Loux and I am part of our undergraduate admissions team here at Xavier! Growing up in St. Louis, I fell in love with Xavier my senior year of high school and decided to make the commitment to become a musketeer, despite not knowing a single soul in Ohio. I’m happy to say it was easily one of the best decisions I have made. I quickly became involved in the multitude of clubs and extracurriculars that Xavier offers. Graduating with a Bachelor’s in Social Work and a minor in History in 2021, I am very excited to be back at my alma mater. In my free time, I love checking out Cincinnati’s art scene and spend quite a bit of my time exploring the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood.

Favorite Thing About Xavier
What sets Xavier apart from other universities, in my opinion, is our community’s commitment to service. Our Jesuit tradition, not only educates students on the societal injustices at both the local and global level, but further calls them to action in order to become a part of the change they wish to see in the world. As an alum who was highly involved in service opportunities throughout my four years at Xavier, I found that students here typically go beyond simple charity. The multitude of weekly volunteer events, immersion trips, and service learning programs encourage students to form lasting and meaningful connections within the communities they serve. Through service, I love how Xavier students can become an active part of their community both on campus and beyond.

Favorite Thing About Cincinnati
The food scene! There are so many awesome restaurant spots and hidden gems throughout the city if you are a foodie like me. And of course, the Bengals (Who Dey!).

Best Advice for Seniors Who Are Making Their College Decision
Prioritize your gut feelings over facts and figures. Of course, the numbers are extremely important when deciding which college you will attend. But, don’t underestimate your emotions throughout the process. When I first set foot on campus it felt like home, even though I was hundreds of miles away from my house. Throughout my years at Xavier, the university continuously proved to me that I had a family here and a purpose. Hopefully you too will soon call X your home!
