Biography

Welcome to Xavier! My name is Mike Garcia and I work in the Office of Admission to help bring in the newest generation of Musketeers every year. I first came to Xavier as a graduate student studying Theology and working in Xavier’s Dorothy Day Center for Faith and Justice. In 2015, the plan was to get my degree and probably move back to California where I am originally from. That plan quickly changed once I got to Xavier’s campus. I was amazed by the community of support shared throughout the Musketeer family and I decided to make the move to Cincinnati permanent. Now I have the immense honor of welcoming new students to the Musketeer family and to the place I now call home!

Favorite thing about Xavier
My favorite thing about Xavier is our students who never cease to inspire me with their commitment to their academics, each other, and working for the common good.

Favorite thing about Cincinnati
The community. I have lived all over the United States and Cincinnati takes community to a whole new level. From art festivals that bring in millions of people to the best opening day in baseball in the country, our town knows how to have fun and create spaces where family and friends can be together.
