Biography

Hello from Xavier, future Musketeers- I am so glad you are here! My name is Mia and I recruit and admit students in our home city of Cincinnati. As a native of Cincinnati, Xavier has always been on my radar, but I was finally able to call it home when I visited our beautiful campus my senior year of high school and fell in love with the atmosphere, students, and opportunities Xavier provides.

As a student at Xavier, I soaked up every moment and opportunity available to me. I was involved in organizations like Alchemist Club and Xavier Singers, attended every basketball game, and worked in our admission office as a tour guide. After graduating in 2021, I was fortunate enough to be able to continue my journey at Xavier as an admission counselor. Xavier can’t seem to shake me (and I don’t want it to)!

Favorite thing about Xavier
My favorite thing about Xavier is the people. I know it sounds cliché, but the community here at Xavier is palpable and is the heart of who we are. The Jesuit values serve as a guide for us, and the idea of “cura personalis”, or care for the whole person, is an integral part of being a Musketeer. Whether you’ve been on campus for years, or are just visiting campus for the first time, our Xavier community is always happy to welcome you to the family.

Favorite thing about Cincinnati
I am big fan of our downtown area. I’ve enjoyed countless afternoons in Over the Rhine exploring the different shops, restaurants, and parks. I also love spending time at the Cincinnati Zoo and countless museums in the area.

Best advice for seniors who are making their college decision
My advice is to take a deep breath and enjoy the journey. You are not alone on this ride, and you have countless resources to help you on your way. I know the college decision can be stressful and even tumultuous at times, but with some discernment, you will come to the right decision and find the school that will be your home. Of course, I hope you’ll find that home here at Xavier!
