The Xavier University Chamber Orchestra welcomes all Xavier students who play violin, viola, cello or bass, offering a non-auditioned space for instrumentalists to grow as musicians and make music together. Open to students of every major, the ensemble reflects Xavier's belief that musical participation should be accessible to all who wish to pursue it. Chamber Orchestra also counts toward the Creative Explorations requirement in Xavier's Core Curriculum.
The ensemble rehearses twice weekly, Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30 to 6 p.m., building toward two concerts each semester. Chamber Orchestra members take part in the annual Christmas at Xavier celebration and collaborate with other Xavier ensembles as well as music ensembles from across the greater Cincinnati community.
