Kathy Farfsing
Montessori Teacher Education Program Director
Kathleen Farfsing serves as Xavier's Program Director and Teaching Professor for the Montessori Teacher Education Preparation (TEP) Program. Ms. Farfsing holds a Master of Education in Montessori Education and a Bachelor of Liberal Arts, both from Xavier University. She is an AMS-credentialed Montessori educator with a distinguished career that spans early childhood through adult education. Her leadership experience includes serving as the General Studies Principal and Early Childhood Director at a local private Montessori School, as well as the K–8 Instructional Coach, where she led curriculum and instructional improvement across grade levels.
Ms. Farfsing has also served in diverse Montessori roles, including classroom teacher, consultant, and Director of the Montessori Dementia Program, where she applied Montessori principles to elder care. She is a published author and has delivered numerous presentations and professional trainings on Montessori Dementia care, demonstrating her commitment to expanding the reach of Montessori philosophy across the lifespan. Her unique blend of administrative leadership, teaching experience, and deep commitment to Montessori education make her an outstanding asset to Xavier’s School of Education.
