City of Cincinnati: Economic Inclusion

This was the first event hosted by the Center for Innovation since the new renovations. Xavier University partnered with Cincinnati’s Department of Economic Inclusion to host an event focused around financial training. This was presented in the form of a panel that discussed how women founded, minority owned, or small businesses can properly go about gaining access to capital. Some key discussion points included how minority businesses can develop stronger banking relationships, best practices for grant and loan approval, the importance of a business plan, and more! Participants got the chance to ask personalized questions and had time to network with the panelists at the end. Attendees of this event were outside community members that wanted to learn more about financial opportunities offered in and around Cincinnati and the best way to increase the likelihood of success when seeking funding for their small business.
