Statement of Ethical Practices and Code of Conduct

Xavier University is a member of both the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) and the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) and adheres to NASFAA's Code of Conduct for Financial Aid Professionals and NACAC’s Guide to Ethical Practice in College Admission.
Xavier employees are expected to always maintain exemplary standards of professional conduct in all aspects of carrying out responsibilities.
Xavier University, its employees, and those working on behalf of the Office of Admission and Division of Strategic Enrollment Management:
  • Will provide college admission counseling that is in the best interest of the student and their academic goals.
  • Will ensure adequate training is provided in order to best represent the University accurately and consistently.
  • Will not participate in high pressure sales tactics in order secure enrollments from any student including veterans as defined by the Department of Defense or those students eligible for Title IV funding.
  • Will not pay employees by commissions, bonuses, or other incentive payments, based on the number of students referred, recruited, admitted, or enrolled. These policies apply to all students eligible for Title IV funding as well as those identified as veterans by the Department of Defense.
