Det. Matthew McClellan

Xavier University Police Department

Detective ( Det.) Matthew McClellan was sworn in at XUPD in July of 2022 following his graduation from Great Oaks Police Academy. Det. McClellan previously served at the Cincinnati/ Northern Kentucky (CVG) Airport Police Department (KY) for 6 years before coming to XUPD. Det. McClellan is a Certified Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) member as well as a Certified CPR/ AED Instructor. He graduated from Roger Bacon High School and possesses a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from The University of Phoenix, and a Master's Degree in Justice Studies from Campbellsville University. Det. McClellan's is eager to interact with, and work alongside, the Xavier Community. Some of the certifications Det. McClellan currently holds include:

 

Factory Armorer - Assisting the XUPD with firearms maintenance.

OPOTA Certified Firearms Instructor.

Axon Training Instructor- Assigned with Certifying XUPD using Axon Taser devices.
