1.2.16.2 WELLNESS CHECKS

University staff may initiate a wellness check to assess a students’ wellbeing. At the discretion of the Dean of Students or designee, a wellness check will be conducted for serious concerns about a student’s wellbeing. A wellness check may include, but is not limited to, in-person contact with the student at their place of residence. Depending on the student and individual situation, failure to respond can be considered an emergency and family may be contacted, consistent with the University’s FERPA policy. The goal of any wellness check is to build safe communities and to assess the safety and wellbeing of all campus community members.
