Transfer Recruitment Director

First Year at Xavier

Biography

My name is Christina and my role at Xavier is to help students transfer to Xavier University with as much ease as possible. My son transferred to Xavier as a sophomore which gave me a unique perspective on the needs of a transfer student. Whether you’re transferring to be closer to home, to find a better fit, or for any other, I want to congratulate you on taking your future by the horns and being brave enough to make a change. I’ll be here for you each step to ensure your needs are met so you can call Xavier home.

When I’m not recruiting Musketeers, I can also be found traveling off the beaten path, by road or trail, anywhere in the United States (or the world), or hanging out at home with my husband, dog and three cats.

Favorite thing about Xavier
My favorite thing about Xavier is the spirit of compassion our faculty and staff have for our students. As a first-generation college student, I had an amazing group of individuals who supported me throughout my four years and beyond. My academic advisor has become my mentor throughout my career and I still receive Christmas cards from him and his wife (shout out to Tom Schick!). I’m pleased that this spirit of cura personalis is still alive at Xavier, which undoubtedly makes a positive impact on our students today.

Favorite thing about Cincinnati
My favorite thing about Cincinnati is we feel like a big town in many ways, yet have a hometown feel. I’m always amazed at how my personal and professional network is interwoven with someone who knows someone, who can help you with your needs. And, I love Graeter’s ice cream, Skyline Chili, and Grippo’s potato chips.

Best advice for transfer students
Lean into your uncertainty. If you are inquiring about transferring, reflect on the reason. Change is always a bit unsettling. But, change also leads to growth. Xavier will help you grow as much as you allow it. Once you’re a Musketeer, you’re part of the family. No one will care if you only spent two or three years here. We’ll have your back as much as those who spent all four years here.
