A New President of the Ohio Music Teachers Association

Sonya Szabo-Reynolds, Adjunct Professor of Piano was installed as President of the Ohio Music Teachers Association at the OhioMTA State Conference in Cleveland on October 20, 2018. Prof. Reynolds previously served on the OhioMTA Executive Committee as President-Elect and as Vice President-State Conferences; she was also the Chair of the conference planning committee for the 2014 OhioMTA State Conference. At the 2018 State Conference in Cleveland, Sonya presented the lecture-recital "Czech It Out: Folk Inspired Gems for Young through Advanced Pianists", and at the 2018 MTNA (Music Teachers National Association) Conference in Orlando, Florida she presented "Cue the Soloist! Preparing the Concerto Winner for their Orchestral Debut". Sonya is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music (NCTM), and in 2016 was named OhioMTA's Certified Teacher of the Year.
