Gallagher Student Center

The GSC Office is the customer service center for the building and provides five primary services and programs to the Xavier community: the Welcome Desk, facility reservations, recreation, off-campus shuttle and student programming.

Welcome Desk – like the GSC, the student Welcome Desk is staffed 24/7 during the academic year, excluding holidays. The Welcome Desk provides information and general referral to the campus community and public. Information provided at the Welcome Desk includes: visitors guides, campus maps, bus schedules, city directories, apartment rental and safety guides. Services provided by the Welcome Desk include:

- An inventory of 36 wireless laptop pc's are available for checkout to Xavier students. Print commands can be sent from anywhere in the GSC to the Welcome Desk printer for pickup. Laptops may be checked out for a maximum of 4 hours and can not leave the building.
- An inventory of 20+ board games is available for checkout by Xavier students.
- Lost & found pickup and drop off for items lost in the GSC and on the campus shuttles.

Facility Reservations – The Gallagher Student Center has a variety of meeting and event space available by request for campus offices, recognized student organizations and external groups. Space is reserved on a first come first serve basis. As members of the Xavier community, recognized student clubs and organizations, faculty/staff/administrators are not charged a room rental fee. External groups are charged room rental fees based on the requested space and time as well as possible equipment costs. Reservations can be made by contacting the Gallagher Student Center Office Secretary at (513) 745-3205, by visiting the GSC office located behind the Welcome Desk, or through our on-line web reservation system on the GSC homepage.

Recreation - the GSC office provides arcade games and pool tables for recreational use in the GSC to the Xavier community and its guests. They are set on “free play” and are located in Ryan’s Pub and on the first floor of the GSC. This program is co-sponsored by the GSC office and Xavier’s Student Government Association.

Off-Campus Shuttle - is sponsored by the Division of Student Life and Leadership and the Student Government Association and is managed by the Gallagher Student Center office. Its mission is to provide Xavier students shuttle service between the university's campus and surrounding neighborhoods. The shuttles run on a fixed route. Xavier students must show their All Card and non-students must be accompanied by a Xavier student. No alcohol is permitted on the shuttle.

Student Programming – the GSC provides two different programming opportunities to Xavier’s student body:

- “Week of Welcome” a series of programs scheduled in the Gallagher Student Center as a part of the Division of Student Life and Leadership Week of Welcome program.
- “GSC Late Night Program Series” (a collaborative effort between the GSC office and Xavier’s Student Government Association) provides quality entertainment, free to all Xavier students in an alcohol-free environment.
