Award-winning poetry collection published as audiobook

Dr. Yalie Saweda Kamara’s book BESAYDOO will be published January 9, 2024. Selected by Amaud Jamaul Johnson for the 2023 Jake Adam York Prize, this collection of poems is an elegantly wrought love song to home—as place, as people, as body, and as language.⁠ The collection will also be simultaneously published as an audiobook narrated by Kamara herself.

A Sierra Leonean-American writer and educator, Kamara is currently the Cincinnati and Mercantile Library Poet Laureate and a first-year assistant professor of English in Xavier University's English department.
