MISSION

The Xavier University Professional Mentor Program fosters meaningful engagement and connection by linking students with industry professionals who offer a variety of experiences and are committed to students’ success.

VISION

The Professional Mentor Program offers students the practical application of networking skills, cultivates personal and professional growth over an extended period, and guides them in their vocational discernment to discover and articulate their strengths and interests. It also supports them in aligning their purpose in the world to pursue fulfilling careers. This mentorship can lead to invaluable experiential learning opportunities and is rooted in the Jesuit values of service to others and cura personalis.

HISTORY

Since its inception in 2003, the nationally known Mentor Program has matched over 2,500 students with executives & career professionals in the Cincinnati area and throughout the United States.  The Program serves Xavier students of all majors and collaborates with Mentors from more than 560 different organizations.

The Xavier Professional Mentor Program is part of the Career Development Office, whose mission is to “connect, educate and empower” students.  


PLATFORM

The Professional Mentor Program utilizes the MentorPRO platform for mentor/ mentee engagement. MentorPRO is a clinical psychology and mentoring research-backed platform with an easy to use mobile app and web version to make communication between mentors and mentees quick and easy!
