Interprofessional Teaming

Interprofessional Teaming is the term which indicates the level of interdependent collaboration by members of a professional group to effectively meet the needs of their clients.

This team of Health Related Disciplines highly respects the expertise of each other and calls on other professionals when needed. They recognize the importance of an integrated approach to meet the complex needs of many persons receiving health or wellness services. Teaming efforts have also been referred to as transdisciplinary or interdisciplinary. The interprofessional team is characterized by mutual decision making with consideration for the unique concerns of an individual and development of an individualized plan to optimize the client’s outcomes.

The Interprofessional Teaming Symposium has successfully educated over 2,100 students across seven disciplines in the past fifteen years. In 2024, we celebrate the fifteenth annual symposium.
