Xavier @ Blue Ridge Blowout
Xavier's B.L.O.B. Ultimate Frisbee team traveled to Boone, North Carolina to play in the Blue Ridge Blowout in the Appalachian Mountains at Appalachian State University. Xavier opened up play on Saturday against two club level squads, falling to bothl. After starting the day 0-2, B.L.O.B. rallied hard to derail Duke-X by a score of 13-2 with the help of an 11-0 lead because of solid defensive play. After the high excitement and emotions of that game, Xavier fought hard in a tough game against Radford, trading points throughout. B.L.O.B. ended the day by sealing a win against Radford with a score of 13-11, placing Xavier into the championship bracket on Sunday. With a trip to the quarterfinals on the line, B.L.O.B. faced off against Elon early Sunday morning. After a very long and enduring game, Xavier was defeated on universe point by a score of 13-12. This tournament showed Xavier that they are a very good team but still have a lot to work on for the series competition come April. Some great plays were made throughout the tournament and each player improved their skills against quality teams. This was their last tournament for the first semester.
