Jason D. Nahrgang, SPHR

Assistant Director, Career and External Relations, Student Veterans Center

Jason D. Nahrgang is the Assistant Director for Career and External Relations and brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and perspective to the SVC in the areas of coaching, networking and veterans transition among myriad other career-centric topics and skills.  Jason earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Wyoming and his commission via ROTC in 1993.  His Air Force career began with a personnel and presidential-level protocol assignment at Andrews AFB, MD, followed by Squadron Section Command for the 421st Fighter Squadron at Hill AFB, UT, including two deployments to Saudi Arabia.  He then served as the Chief of Military Equal Opportunity at Peterson AFB, CO, where he deployed to Kuwait in support of Operation Southern Watch.  Follow-on staff tours took him to Randolph AFB, TX, and Wright Patterson AFB, OH, where he served as the Mission Support Commander for the Air Force Institute of Technology.  His final assignments in Colorado entailed Inspector General and staff activities for Air Force Space Command and he culminated his career as the Commander of the 50th Force Support Squadron at Schriever AFB, CO, retiring from active service in 2014.  He holds a master’s degree in Leadership and Management and is a certified Senior Professional of Human Resources.  Hailing from the State of Wyoming, he volunteers much of his spare time and access to his Black Hills property where hosts spring and fall adventures in the out-of-doors for veterans and children with terminal or life-threatening conditions.
