Biography

Hi! My name is Emma and I recruit and admit students in my home state of Indiana. I truly love and cherish having a job that allows me to help high school seniors find their home at Xavier! When I’m not working, I spend most of my time with my husband and sweet Goldendoodle, trying new foods, visiting family, serving in our church, and generally spending time in community.

Favorite thing about Xavier
My favorite thing about Xavier is the community of people it attracts! When I first stepped foot on campus, I was instantly drawn in by the nature and character of the people I interacted with, whether it was students, staff, faculty, or even families visiting. The amount of care and genuine kindness that everyone shows one another is why Xavier’s mission lives on, and it is a joy to be a part of it.

Favorite thing about Cincinnati
My favorite thing about Cincinnati is the food! There is such a wide variety of food to choose from in a reasonably sized city. I think I could try a new restaurant every day for a year and still not have eaten through all of the good food this city has to offer (a challenge I would happily accept).

Best advice for seniors who are making their college decision
My advice to seniors making their college decision is to be bold! For maybe the first time in your life, you get to take the reins and make the biggest decision for yourself about your future, and your opportunities are endless. Take this responsibility seriously, but also take time to savor and enjoy the most special and exciting season of your life! Lean into the excitement, the nerves, and the uncertainty, because everyone around you is feeling the same emotions and you are not alone.
