Xavier gives credit for academic courses, some military experience, the Ohio Police Officer's Training Academy, and other training programs, as recommended by the American Council on Education. Your advisor can walk you through the transfer process to help you get the most out of the credit you've received.
You may have completed AP, IB and college credit throughout your high school career, and if so, please make sure that those are sent directly to Xavier. AP scores must be sent directly from CollegeBoard and college credit must be sent on an official transcript from the college or university.
Transfer Credit Questions
For a list of transferable credits please consult our Transfer Equivalency System (TES).
PLEASE NOTE: Certain institutions and courses may not appear in our database. This does not mean that the courses will not transfer; only that they have not previously been presented for evaluation. Xavier courses shown with the prefix ‘UNDE’ are used for courses that do not have an equivalent course at Xavier, but the credit is transferable as a general elective credit. Transfer work evaluations are completed for admitted transfers and deposited freshman. Official transcripts are required in order for the transfer credit evaluation to be completed.
- Credit will be accepted for all college-level academic courses (except co-op and life experience) in which a grade of 'C' or better has been earned at institutions of higher education that are accredited by one of the regional accrediting associations. Some majors require higher grades for the course work to count toward degree-requirements.
- Credits from accepted courses from other institutions are transferred, but the grades do not transfer.
- Current Xavier students must submit a completed Off-Campus Approval Form before taking course(s) at another institution.
If you have questions about transfer credit, please feel free to ask our counselors.
