NEW: Grad Exam Classes

Look into organizing classes for the Graduate Entrance Exams (GMAT, MCAT, LSAT, GRE, etc) at a lower cost to students.

Our progress so far...
  • Met with Kaplan organizer for Xavier, Steve Blomer - he will be contacting the Kaplan national office to look into a course that is designed specifically for Xavier students and could be subsidized by the Student Activity Fee
  • Currently waiting for a quote -- hoping to have a class ready for the Spring semester

Work with Digital Services to Make the Portal More User Friendly

Add a search bar to the Portal

Create an easier way to access free student transcripts Add link to OrgSync directly from Portal

  • Met with Annette Marksbury (Director of IT) to discuss how we can make the Portal more user friendly
  • The IT Department has already started work on this, we plan to stay involved. Please provide us with student input to send to them.

Work with the Center for International Education to Expand Study Abroad Opportunities

Push the administration to allow for Xavier scholarships to transfer to study abroad programs

Our progress so far...
  • Met with Ishmael Betincourt to discuss how to improve study abroad
  • Discussed how to improve study abroad with Father Graham (President of Xavier University) and Dr. Chadwick (Provost)
  • Over the summer, three members of the International Education Department have left Xavier University, leaving us delayed in any forward progress.
  • Plans to create a petition to show the importance of this issue on campus and urge the administration to make improvements - sooner rather than later
  • Students can show their support by signing the petition below:
  • Met with Lori Johnson (Associate Provost of Student Enrichment) to discuss how Study Abroad can be enhanced in the future. Will continue to work with her this year.
