COVID-19 Resource Center

Testing

Active virus testing for Xavier students is provided by Xavier Health Services, operated by TriHealth. Each student's situation will be evaluated by a medical provider on a case-by-case basis to determine appropriate testing protocols (per CDC and ODH guidelines). Student Health Services will bill the costs of COVID-19 tests to the student’s insurance provider.

To promote the health and safety of the Xavier community, quarantine and isolation practices for students who test positive or are awaiting test results will be essential to mitigate the risk of infection on campus. Students who have tested positive for COVID-19, are awaiting test results, or are a close contact of someone with a confirmed COVID-19 case will need to separate themselves physically until medically cleared. In conjuction with our TriHealth medical experts, Xavier has developed comprehensive quarantine and isolation protocols and expectations in accordance with CDC guidelines. Recognizing the challenges associated with quarantine/isolation on campus, all students expected to quarantine/isolate will be encouraged to leave the Xavier community and return to their permanent residence if circumstances permit. Travel considerations and family risk factors will be important considerations in this assessment.

Quarantine / Isolation Information

Based on TriHealth clinical guidance, off-campus resident students who have tested positive for COVID-19, are awaiting test results, or have had significant exposure to someone with COVID-19 will be asked to quarantine at their off-campus location or at their permanent address (if they can return there safely) until the results from the test have been returned. Students expected to engage in quarantine or isolation will be required to follow the quarantine/isolation guidelines until they receive documentation from the University verifying that they have met all conditions for release from quarantine or isolation.
