Housing and Dining

Campus Housing

Residence Life is a space where students forge many of their deepest friendships, build community and develop mentoring relationships with their RAs and Hall Directors. This year we are taking steps to minimize our hall density by removing triples and quads. Nonetheless, we will follow our standard approach to Residence Life by assigning two students to a first-year room.

Residence Life has a detailed approach to safety for the fall semester. Review the entire approach, including information about "households," cleaning procedures, and steps that students need to take to promote health and safety in campus housing.

Campus Dining

Our partners in Xavier Dining are adjusting their facilities and offerings in accordance with best industry food service practices with a focus on the safety of both our associates and our customers.

Hoff Dining Commons will be available only to those campus community members with meal plans. In order to manage the number of people served required by social distancing guidelines, both eat-in and carry-out service in Hoff Dining will be by RSVP only. You will NOT be able to enter the facility without both a meal plan and a reservation. Reservations are made on the Transact Mobile Ordering App available on both the App Store and Google Play.

Self-service buffets will be replaced with individually portioned, served buffets, and dining capacity will be modified to ensure physical distancing between tables. The menus have been revised with speed of service in mind, customization has temporarily been replaced with fixed menu selections. For added convenience, mobile ordering has been added to Hoff Dining. You will be able to order from a variety of our favorite items and pickup up just outside of the facility. We are also planning to add a grab-and-go board venue in the Cintas Center main concourse.

To enhance the campus dining experience our retail outlets in the lower level of Gallagher Center have been refreshed and rebranded as a Burger 513 focusing on fresh hand-pressed burgers and milkshakes, and a FujiSan offering wide variety of fresh made sushi and Poke bowls. All menus are focused on quick service carry-out and grab-and-go items. Food orders from these area outlets may be placed in advance through the Transact Mobile Ordering App.

Beginning on Monday, July 20, the Starbucks at University Station will be open from 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
