Spring 2021 Return to Campus Guidance

The Xavier community demonstrated their commitment to the health and safety of one another during the fall semester. A renewed focus on our shared Community Commitment to health and safety measures is critical – wearing a mask around others, maintaining distance, washing hands, cleaning surfaces, keeping groups small, and avoiding larger gatherings. Our All For One spirit and commitment to the common good will allow us to have another successful semester together.

Before returning to Xavier, all students are strongly recommended to self-quarantine at home for at least five days and then get a COVID-19 test.

The average incubation for COVID-19 is about five days. A negative test result on day five post exposure means it is less likely that the student will carry the virus back to Xavier. Students who test positive at any time are asked to promptly report the result to the University at

COVID-19 testing continues to be available through Student Health Services, with priority for symptomatic students and close contacts of positive cases. Office visits are by appointment only and can be scheduled by contacting Student Health Services at 513-745-3022, option 3. An after-hours nurse line is available at 513-246-7023.

As students return to Xavier, and their on and off campus housing, it is extremely important they take additional precautions to protect themselves, their peers, and our community by wearing masks, avoiding gatherings, and reducing close contacts.

Please contact Student Health Services immediately if you develop symptoms of COVID-19 or other signs of illness.
