Careers in Radiologic Technology

Students graduating in radiologic technology are eligible to apply to the American Registry of the Radiologic Technologist (see section entitled Accreditation) and will be prepared to work as radiographers in a number of different settings, such as

  • Hospitals
  • Outpatient Clinics
  • Mobile Units

Recent graduates have been employed in positions in the following areas:

  • Radiography
  • Fluoroscopy
  • Computed tomography (CT)
  • Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
  • Special procedures
  • Mammography

Students wishing to advance within the field of radiologic technology can pursue a bachelor's degree in liberal arts with minors in MRI, management, business, or education.

Xavier's Career Services Center assists students in their search for employment by conducting an annual workshop series on interviewing and resume writing techniques, and by maintaining a current information resource center. Students should begin developing a personal career plan during their freshman year.
