Certificate in Health Care Management

Overview

The Xavier University certificate in health care management provides you with the opportunity to learn or increase your health care management skills by completing 15-18 hours of coursework. Students benefit from the richness of a graduate-level program the serves as a meaningful milestone in both personal and career development.

Eligibility

Students wishing to enter the certificate program must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Students must also be employed at a health care organization throughout the duration of the program.

Courses

The Xavier certificate in health care management consists of four core courses and one or two electives taken on a part-time basis (usually two courses per semester for three semesters). Courses include:

  • Managerial Concepts
  • Health Care Systems
  • Human Resources
  • Strategic Management and Marketing Strategies
  • Information Systems
  • Clinical Processes

Electives can be selected from a list of courses offered through the Xavier University graduate program in health services administration. Some certificate coursework may be applied towards a master's degree in health services administration at Xavier University.
