The graduate program in theology provides students with a firm foundation in Christian theology through the study of scripture, tradition and ethics. Students with varying backgrounds acquire the conceptual tools to look at world and local issues from a theological perspective. Our general masters theology program is designed for students who are interested in pursuing further study in theology, as well as, those who wish to develop tools and knowledge for working in religious education. The program in theology is flexible enough to accommodate a wide variety of interests, while also responding to the theological needs of the day.
The Xavier University graduate theology program also offer applied degrees through the Institute for Spirituality and Social Justice (ISSJ) with concentrations in social and pastoral ministry. These tracks of study in theology prepare students to meet the social and pastoral needs of both the local and national Catholic Church, as well as, other professional work places.
