Unable to Log into Search@XU or Other Library Databases
We are experiencing issues with users getting this message when trying to access library databases, even on campus:
This site can’t be reached. Check if there is a typo in eds-a-ebscohost-com.nocdbproxy.xavier.edu.
If spelling is correct, try running Windows Network Diagnostics.
DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN detail (name of resource, URL, error messages etc.)
To fix this, try the following:
- Clear your browser cookies/cache
- If you get a message that Zotero is trying to Proxy the site, say NO
- Turn off your Zotero Extension and then try accessing the resource
- Try a different browser

Exhibit: Issue searching within large PDFs
When searching in some collections in Exhibit that include large PDFs, not all instances of your search terms may appear in the results due to an issue with indexing. Searching for documents via Google may yield better results. In the Google search bar, enter “site:exhibit.xavier.edu” followed by your search terms. For help, please contact a librarian.

Potential Connectivity Issue (ongoing)
When working remotely and logged on to the Global Protect Virtual Private Network (VPN), you may encounter an error message when trying to access library resources that require authentication (EZ Proxy prefix is in front of the resource URL). If you get a "Secure Connection Failed" error, log out of the VPN and re-authenticate in order to gain access to the resource.
