A laboratory school, often known as a "lab school," is a unique educational setting where students benefit from a combination of research-driven practices, hands-on learning, and direct interaction with teachers who are part of a larger academic institution. At Xavier University’s laboratory school, your child will benefit from the full array of faculty expertise and academic programs in Xavier University’s School of Education and serves as a site for college and graduate students at Xavier to learn in real-life classrooms. The School of Education faculty in partnership with the XULS staff will collaborate to enhance the educational experience of every XULS child. The SOE Faculty is comprised of former public and private school teachers, superintendents, and principals with extensive K12 teaching experience, an average of 16.6 years of K12 school experience and 30 years in the field of education. These professionals and scholars will work closely with the Lab School to incorporate evidence-based and innovative instructional approaches while upholding high academic standards. Yes, part of the new vision for the school is broadening access for children of employees and for children of students who are parents and to provide a childcare option on our campus for age 3 and up. The Implementation Team is saving 50% of student seats for children of Xavier employees and Xavier students through January 17, 2025. After that date, all student seats will become available to families and students beyond Xavier. Faculty staff, and students interested in registering their children may Apply to Xavier University Lab School (XULS). Please note faculty, staff, and college and graduate students receive a discounted tuition rate for their children.
