Xavier University is a private, Catholic, Jesuit University established in 1831 with a beautiful campus located in Cincinnati, Ohio. Xavier University has been recognized for the past 20 years as one of the nation's best Midwestern colleges and universities by US News and World Report. Its three colleges offer 90 undergraduate majors, 57 minors and 19 graduate programs to 6,545 total students, including 4,540 undergraduates. The University is the sixth-oldest Catholic university in the United States and one of 27 Jesuit colleges and universities in the U.S.
Xavier currently hosts 20 students as part of the BSMP who have come from throughout Brazil to study STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) courses at Xavier. Xavier offers a comprehensive liberal arts education and very strong majors within our College of Arts and Sciences, our College of Professional Sciences, and our Williams College of Business.
Xavier competes in the Big East Conference, one of the top athletic conferences in the U.S. From August 3-12, 2014 the Xavier men's basketball team visited Brazil to compete with Brazilian professional and club teams. The Intensive English Program is accredited by The Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA) and is a member of The American Association of Intensive English Programs (AAIEP).
