Setting a plan for your retirement

As a valued member of Xavier's faculty, there is a lot to consider in planning your transition from daily University life to retirement. Financial security is certainly important yet only one facet in total fulfillment.

At Xavier, we are blessed to have retired faculty who are active in the University community. While those nearing retirement worry if they will still be welcomed or if their work was valuable, at Xavier, we see great participation from many of our retirees. They regularly attend social engagements, serve as mentors, communicate via Xavier e-mail, attend sporting and arts events and much more.

Moving toward retirement

To assist you in your planning, we would like to provide a general timeframe of considerations and share with you the benefits and opportunities you have as a Xavier retiree.

  • Maximize catch-up options
  • Review estate planning documents
  • Assess voluntary benefits' viability
