Through our early acceptance program, you can be enrolled in medical school while you complete your undergraduate degree.
The Early Acceptance Program is designed to facilitate the admission of Xavier students into Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM); this means that as an undergraduate, you can be enrolled simultaneously at both Xavier and LECOM.
LECOM will interview students prior to their enrollment at Xavier University or within the first two years of study at Xavier. Students interviewing successfully will be offered a provisional acceptance to LECOM’s Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine program. If they meet the criteria, they can choose from any of the LECOM campuses, dependent upon space availability. Campuses are located in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Florida.
The Early Acceptance Program has two phases:
- Phase I: credit-hour equivalent of four years of undergraduate education at Xavier University
- Phase II: medical school education at LECOM and its associated clinical training sites
How to Apply
How many students will be accepted?
Each academic year, up to five students will be accepted from high school into the Early Admission Program by LECOM and Xavier University. At the end of four years, five students will be accepted from the Early Acceptance Program into LECOM’s Phase II.
