Department Workgroups

After a review of the Communication Worksheets, 16 department workgroups were formed.

Facilitators from each department's management team led discussions and each workgroup focused on topics relevant to their group.  

Topics included:

  • Specific comments from the Communication Worksheets

  • Are other university areas acting on our communications in a desired manner?  Do we communicate enough?  Do we need more formal processes or documentation for other departments to reference?

  • Formal versus information communication

  • Problem resolution processes

  • Communication and collaboration focus on shared processes 

  • Training and education opportunities

  • Communications during shift changes and insuring all shifts are properly informed and briefed

  • Communication between departments, between divisions, and university-wide
