Aaron Meis serves as Vice President of Enrollment Management at Xavier University. He has 23 years of experience in higher education. He lives in Wyoming, OH, with his wife and three children. He also serves as a member of the Wyoming City Schools Board of Education.
Since beginning his tenure at Xavier in 2008, Mr. Meis has recruited eight of the largest first-year classes in the university's history - including several of the most ethnically and geographically diverse classes - and been responsible for increases in retention and decreasing the University's discount rate among first-year students. He previously served Xavier as Dean of Undergraduate Admission, Dean of Admission, Dean of Admission and Financial Aid and Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management. Prior to his service at Xavier, Mr. Meis served as Dean of Admissions at Converse College in Spartanburg, SC, where he acted as the chief enrollment officer and reported directly to the college's president. He was responsible for increasing applications by 300% in his first year and lowering Converse's discount rate by 7 percentage points.
Mr. Meis began his career at Loyola University Chicago in 1993. His efforts resulted in Loyola enrolling (at that time) its two largest classes in the university's history in 2001 and 2002. He earned both his bachelor's degree in Political Science and his master's degree in Higher Education Administration from Loyola.
