About the course
The course will showcase Bryan's approach to 1) developing students' critical thinking through knowledge scaffolding, 2) facilitating effective group work, feedback, and reflection, and 3) practical, application-based pedagogy through experiential learning. Bryan's course follows a module-based approach, with each module providing an in-depth investigation into a set of interconnected topics. To facilitate application of concepts, each module follows a “learn-do-teach” approach. Students learn through lecture and discussion, they do through in-class assignments and activities, and teach by sharing their knowledge while working on a team-based experiential learning project.
Session Description
Tuesday 11/1: Meeting with External Professionals—Experiential learning is at the core of the marketing curriculum. In this course, students engage in a series of meetings with external professionals to focus on solving a current real-world problem in the field. The essence of this activity is to engage in two-way conversation with professionals. Students must consider the dynamics of working with peers, analyze different roles within a team, and reflect on their contributions and areas for improvement.
