2012 Faculty in Residence

Jen Robbins, Ph.D.

BIOL 130 Introduction to Life Sciences for K-8 Education Majors

Fall 2012 semester

Dr. Robbins uses an inverted class structure (?classroom flipping?) in which students do their knowledge acquisition before class using online lectures and guided readings. During class, students practice applying their knowledge through games, models, guided inquiry, and case studies. This classroom format increases student learning, student enjoyment and student commitment to the material.
