As a counterpart to the CTE Faculty in Residence Program, which will run each Fall semester, the CTE is pleased to sponsor the Teaching Mentoring Pairs program, which will run each Spring semester. Both share a common goal: to support a culture of reflective teaching at Xavier by encouraging faculty members to observe one another teach and talk about the experience.
This program will support pairs of faculty from different academic departments to observe one another classes on two occasions. After each pair of visits, the CTE will pay for lunch. The two faculty may apply individually or together; they may be at similar or at different stages of their careers.
The commitment is minimal: each member will agree to observe the other teach a class on two separate occasions over the course of the Spring semester. The CTE will provide two $20 gift certificates to an on-campus or nearby restaurant, so that the pair can meet twice for lunch to discuss what they observed, once after each pair of class observations.
