Sean L. Rhiney, JD, is the Director of Xavier University's Eigel Center for Community-Engaged Learning. The Center serves as a catalyst for faculty, students, and staff to collaborate with the broader community to promote student curricular learning, University partnerships, and community well-being. He also serves as the scholarship director for the Community Engaged Fellows. Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, Rhiney earned a BA in Philosophy from Xavier University and his Juris Doctorate from Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University. As a practicing attorney he handled complex litigation and intellectual property matters and spent eight years at the University of Cincinnati College of Law directing and teaching experiential learning programs and advising students pursuing careers in public interest law. He is a former managing editor of Soapbox Cincinnati and his civic engagement has including serving on the steering committee of the Beacon of Hope Business Alliance, Chair of Evanston Academy's LSDMC, Greater Cincinnati Urban League, Board of Advisors, and in leadership roles on the boards of Mortar, a nonprofit that works with under-served entrepreneurs and businesses, King Studios, and the Music Resource Center, an after school program that mentors teens through music production.
