Community-Engaged Learning

The Eigel Center for Community-Engaged Learning facilitates curricular community engaged learning experiences.  Community engaged learning enriches coursework by encouraging students to apply the knowledge and analytic tools gained in the classroom to the pressing issues affecting local communities.

Community Engagement describes the collaboration between Xavier University and our larger communities for the mutually beneficial exchange of knowledge and resources in a context of partnerships and reciprocity.  Community engaged learning therefore can take on many forms, from individual volunteerism to organizational involvement.
