The most common weapon used in fencing. Uses rules involving right of way that discerns who is on the offensive and who is on the defensive. This weapon is point weapon which means it uses the tip as a way to score points. The target area is the area includes the chest and neck.

Foils fencing


Similar to foil, it also uses the tip of the blade to score points. Epee is unique in the way that it is the only weapon without right of way. It involves using different tactics because of the opportunity to have both people score at the same time. The target area is the entire body.

Epee fencing


Sabre uses right of way as well with a few different rules. Unlike the other two weapons, Sabre is a weapon that mostly uses slashing motions to hit the opponent. The sabre target area is from the waist up.
