Biography

As the Assistant Director for Service, Justice, and Immersion Shannon works with students, faculty, and staff to deepen our understanding of and commitment to the pursuit of justice in our campus, local, and global communities.

Prior to her work at Xavier, Shannon managed the NETWORK Education Program in Washington, DC (the partner of NETWORK, a National Catholic Social Justice Lobby). At NETWORK, Shannon presented to faith groups and student groups, at national conferences and in professional development settings to provide resources, foster conversations, and ultimately raise awareness and understanding around the central justice issues at stake in current federal policy. Shannon worked in Resident Services for Over-the-Rhine Community Housing, a non-profit affordable housing provider in Cincinnati. Through Jesuit Volunteers International, Shannon spent two years teaching English, physics and world religions at Assumption High School, Republic of the Marshall Islands. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Xavier University in her hometown of Cincinnati.
