Xavier Students Win Latin Translation Contest

Five students competed and won in the Latin Translation Contest for College/University Students.

This contest, held by the Classical Association of the Midwest and South, is one of the largest in the country. This year, Classics students participated in the intermediate-level College exam. They competed with almost 350 students from 37 schools, including some of the top colleges and universities in the region. 

Amongst the award winners, Lily Darnell came second in the nation and received a cash award. Josh Williams came eighth in the nation and received a book award. Aaron Ticknor, Tim Ganshirt, and Matthew Blain all received letters of commendation and were among the top 45 students in the nation.
