Raad Files for Patent on New Wearable Technology Device

Haider Raad, associate professor of physics, is using his expertise in Wearable Technology to explore electronic devices that can eliminate or minimize the entry of airborne viruses through the nostrils.

Raad is working to develop a device that provides electromagnetic energy that vibrates the virus particles and generates heat aiming to destroy virus particles prior to or upon entry into the nasal or oral cavities.

Raad filed for a provisional patent for his idea and plans to test the device at the University of California, Davis once the prototype is ready.
