Bill Madges Releases a New Publication

William Madges, Professor and Chair of Theology, released a new publication this year. 

The Paulist Press published Madges' translation (from German) of Cardinal Walter Kasper’s book The Message of Amoris laetitia.

The book explains, “Pope Francis’s’ apostolic exhortation Amoris laetitia deals with the pressing issues of marriage and the family today.  It was welcomed by many as liberating good news. At the same time, it has also been an object of contentious argument and criticism.  Here in his latest book, Cardinal Walter Kasper clearly and determinedly avoids any polemics while pointing out that Amoris laetitia does not represent new doctrine.”

Amoris laetitia is the fifth book by Kasper that Madges has translated from German. As part of his work, Madges translated, Mercy: The Essence of the Gospel and the Key to Christian Life, a book which Pope Francis praised, saying: “This book has done me so much good.”
