Our colleagues over in the WCB Marketing department call those our university's "brand pillars."

One brand pillar particular came to mind this week, not long after we witnessed the launch of our ambitious strategic plan and its accompanying branding.

Achieving

Over the past week, I've had the chance to congratulate and celebrate the achievements of several of our colleagues.

Those faculty who earned tenure and promotion and those who rose to the rank of Professor, those students who were honored for their leadership and service, and one senior colleague whose years of quiet service will hereafter be remembered annually -- long after the last of us who are privileged to know him are gone. 

Each of them earned their individual honors through years of work.

And they did so in our company. This week the privilege of sharing a community with them and with you hit home. Together, indeed.
