Questions

Welcome to the first weekly CAS Bulletin of the new academic year!

It's a great place to bring your questions. At this time of year, we've all got at least a few of them.

Some of you are new to the college. We are thrilled that you are here. And if your most pressing query today is how to find your assigned classroom, then let me point you to the campus map.

Seeking information about the college? Start with the CAS public website, which includes a page specifically for CAS faculty.

You'll find lots more practical information on the CAS Nexus (SharePoint) page, which is only accessible to members of the college.

This week all of us are asking how CAS members can help realize the ambitions of the recently unveiled Strategic Plan. That will be a central topic of discussion at tomorrow's retreat of the CAS Academic Leadership Group, a key group within the college's shared governance.

I'm afraid, however, that the CAS Bulletin won't answer ALL of your questions. Whether you're wondering where our long-awaited summers went or what difference it makes that some organization you never heard of recently labeled Xavier a doctoral/professional institution, you'll have to look elsewhere.

Nevertheless I heartily commend to you this weekly bulletin as an essential way to become an informed member of our College of Arts and Sciences.
